Есть четыре времени года: зима, весна, лето и осень. Каждое из них длится три месяца. В Украине зима — обычно холодное время года. Часто идет снег, реки замерзают. Самое неприятное зимой то, что солнце рано садится и поздно встает, особенно в декабре и январе. Дни короткие, небо часто бывает серым, природа спит, и иногда это очень надоедает. Но к концу марта погода постепенно смягчается. Солнце сияет ярче. Дни становятся длиннее. Снег начинает таять. Приходит весна, и природа просыпается после долгого зимнего сна. Начинают распускаться все растения и цветы. Птицы возвращаются с юга и вьют гнезда. Крестьяне начинают сев. Все вокруг полно жизни и радости. За весной следует лето. Погода становится все теплее, и иногда бывает очень жарко. Небо — голубое и безоблачное. Но иногда бывают грозы с громом и молниями. Сады пестрят цветами в течение всех летних месяцев. Люди проводят много времени на свежем воздухе. Они находят время пойти в лес, поплавать в реке, позагорать. В сентябре приходит осень. Ранняя осень — время сбора урожая, время, когда созревают овощи и фрукты. Это тоже прекрасное время
года, когда погода все еще теплая, а листья желтеют. Но к концу октября погода становится все холоднее. Часты дожди и туманы. Листья падают с деревьев и укрывают землю. Птицы улетают в теплые края. В небе висят низкие и тяжелые облака. Пейзаж становится довольно скучным. К зиме природа медленно впадает в спячку. В действительности у каждого времени года есть хорошие дни, и каждое прекрасно по-своему. И нетрудно увидеть эту красоту.

There are four seasons in the year: winter, spring, summer and autumn. Each of them lasts three months. In Ukraine winter is usually a cold season. It often snows, the rivers are frozen. The most unpleasant thing about winter is that the sun sets early and rises late — especially in December and January. The days are short, the sky is often grey, nature is sleeping and sometimes it gets rather boring. But at the end of March the weather gets gradually milder. The sun shines more brightly. The days become longer. The snow begins melting. Spring comes and nature awakens after a long sleep of winter. All kinds of plants and flowers come out. The birds return from the South and build their nests. The farmers begin the sowing campaign. Everything around is full of life and joy. Spring is followed by summer. The weather gets still warmer and sometimes it is very hot. The sky is blue and cloudless. But sometimes there are storms with thunder and lightning. The gardens are gay with flowers all summer months. In summer people spend much time in the open air. They find time to go to the forest, to swim in the river, to sunbathe. Autumn comes in September. Early autumn is still the harvest time, the time when the fruit and vegetables become ripe. It is also a very beautiful time of the year, when the weather is still warm and the leaves change their colour from green to yellow. But towards the end of October the weather gets colder and colder. There’s much rain and fog. Leaves fall from trees and cover the ground. Birds fly away to warm countries. Low and heavy clouds hang in the sky. The landscape becomes rather dull. Nature slowly falls asleep for winter. In fact every season has its fine days and is pleasant in its own way. And it is not difficult to see this beauty.
