The Maslenitsa Russian Festival London event is coming to Trafalgar Square in March, celebrating Russian culture in London in an eclectic free event.

The Maslenitsa Russian Festival London event brings authentic Russian culture to London in a unique cultural event, now being held for the third consecutive year. Taking place on 6th March, the festival falls near Lent traditional springtime celebrations will feature throughout, including music, dancing and plenty of blinis.

Not only will there be a whole host of fantastic entertainment on Sunday 6th March, there will also be plenty to get involved in yourself with children’s activities and the chance to buy authentic Russian food and souvenirs at the cultural stalls. Maslenitsa is a week long, Russian version of Shrove Tuesday, so expect plenty of colourful entertainment in Trafalgar Square.
Russian culture old and new
A wide range of Russian artists and performers will bring both historic and contemporary entertainment to Trafalgar Square in the Russian Winter Festival. Highlights include live music from rock groups, opera singers, and folk jazz artists, as well as a dance performances from groups such as the Moscow State Ensemble of Dance.

A special children’s area will give younger visitors the chance to play games, watch theatre performances and enter competitions. Authentic Russian food and drink will also be available at the festival, offering the chance to sample a taste of Russia.
