Gandalf the Grey
A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early; he arrives precisely when he means to!
[Of the Ring inscription] In the Common tongue it says, “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.”
I am a servant of the secret fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn! Go back to the shadow! You shall not pass!
Fly, you fools!
Bilbo Baggins
I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve!
It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.
[after attacking Frodo while under the Ring’s influence] I’m sorry I brought this upon you, my boy. I’m sorry you must carry this burden. [begins to sob] I’m sorry for everything.
Samwise Gamgee
If I take one more step… it’ll be the farthest away from home I’ve ever been.
Let him go! Or I’ll have you, Long-Shanks!
I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise. “Don’t you leave him, Samwise Gamgee”, and I don’t mean to. I don’t mean to!
Boromir
It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing… such a little thing.
(last words) I would have followed you to the end, my brother, my captain, my king…
Galadriel
(first lines) The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it…It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest, and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain
halls. And nine, nine Rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else, desire power. For within these Rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all of them deceived… for another Ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, The Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a Master Ring, to control all others. And into this Ring, he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all… One by one, the Free Lands of Middle-Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some, who resisted… A Last Alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor and on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth…Victory was near. But the power of the Ring… Could not be undone… It was in this moment… When all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father’s sword… Sauron, the enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated.
Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

Gollum: It came to me. My own, my love, my own, my… preccciouss… Gollum!
Gollum:(in pain) Shire, Baggins
Saruman: You did not seriously think that a hobbit could contend with the will of Sauron, did you? There are none who can. Against the power of Mordor there can be no victory.
Sauron: You cannot hide. I see you! There is no life in the void…only death.
Aragorn: [of the Ringwraiths] They were once men, great kings of men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them nine Rings of Power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question, one by one falling into darkness. Now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgûl: Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead.
