Шопоголик – книга Софи Кинселлы / The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by the British writer, Sophie Kinsella (Madeleine Wickham), is a novel about young lady, Becky Bloomwood, who is enthusiastic about shopping. This story tells the tale of a young journalist who strives to stop going shopping because she spends a huge sum of money in fact on nothing vital, buying cosmetics, clothes, and unnecessary things.

The story begins with the letters to Becky Bloomwood from the Bank Endwich, where the managers of the bank inform her about the credit limit up to 2 thousand pounds available for her, if she, Rebecca Bloomwood, decides to use the bank services. Another letter follows the first one, where the bank informs his client about the debt in the amount of more than 2 thousand pounds. The main character is eager not to go shopping but she can`t help it.

The story is excellent, with humorous episodes, written in chick-lit genre. It gives a clear idea of the people like Becky Bloomwood, because she analyses what she does from the viewpoint of a shopaholic. There are two ways out for her, either to work harder and get more money, or to save money and not to buy everything she just likes. She can`t earn a lot of money and she can`t get married to any rich man. But… she prefers to buy, not to be bought by someone.

It is sure to be an English best-seller among the chick-lit books. All in all, it is worth reading to relax and plunge into the secret dreamworld of a shopaholic.
