Dear City & Guilds,

I am writing to say a big thank to City & Guilds for the International Competition of the English Language – English Essay Competition! I want to express my deep gratitude to you for holding the competition! I greatly appreciate your idea of this project and for your kind invitation of everyone who knows the English language not only for students or pupils or for teachers. I am sure this competition will contribute to the improvement for learners of English and to motivation for learning in general.

I hope all participants find this idea of writing essays interesting and useful because it is really so! I wish to express my full appreciation for the fact that though I learn English at the university and I had a great Opportunity to attend the English course in Saratov some years ago, I decided to participate in this competition without a beat of heart because we all learn almost everything and get the level of proficiency through practice and this competition helps you to develop your writing skills no matter who are you: a student, a pupil, or anyone else. Your compositions may be evaluated by other people all over the world thanks to City & Guilds!

Speaking about myself, I should add that this competition helped me to be on firm ground, it motivated me to do my best and I guess to pass the International Examination of English further in my life as I would like to get an objective result of my English level and to prove it just for myself that I can do that.

I do appreciate the work of City & Guilds, in this competition inparticular!
