As we know people dream away the whole life. So do I. I want to be а journalist since my childhood. To become a highly-qualified specialist I need perfect English. My English wasn’t good enough, but two years ago I went on studying English individually as hard as possible, although I had been learning English since the second form. Learning of foreign language is not an easy task, believe me. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts. But I have to do the best.
I called my efforts the sparrow steps. Firstly, I entered the writing town contest. My essay “Legends and facts about a real hero” in English was awarded the third prize. In essay I wanted to show my admiration for a Kalmyk national Hero Oka Gorodovikov who had become one of the outstanding Russian military leaders thanks to his nature and abilities.
Last year I had a great chance to take part in an exchange programme “FLEX” (the USA). Of course I was nervous and afraid of everything. I didn’t remember anything in detail, but that time I realized the weather was sunny but very windy and frosty enough. In spite of the cold weather I got into the leading group of 30 pupils among 400 participants. At the second level I used the possibility to demonstrate my English language in the best possible light. Not so long ago before the Christmas I filled the documents and sent to American сonsul.
I know G. B. Shaw’s words “England and America are two countries separated by the same language”. And nowadays I prepare myself for passing the International exam to get the British City & Guilds Certificate. I’m sure it will make me be closer to my dream.
It is one thing to recommend those who wants to be the XXI century professional no matter what job to choose: nobody can learn English for you. Moreover, without doubt it’s a language of computer technology that’s why English is worth studying!
