I study at a foreign language faculty of Menzelinsk teacher training college and in summer we had a practice in our flying club “Menzelinsk”. We knew a lot of interesting information about parachute jumping, drop-zones, famous parachute jumpers and about variety of parachute jumping. At first the instructor told the history of the flying club and showed the territory.
Parachute jumping associates with free falling and planning with the parachute. If a group of parachutists is in free falling the speed of the falling reaches 50-60 meters per second, or 180-200 kilometers per hour. Thanks to the speed jumper can movefreely in the air steering with his body (arms, legs, etc.). When you jump from 4000 meters height, you fly down only 60 seconds. In order to land safely the jumper needs to back that speed and land on a necessary place.
We knew a lot of kind of parachute jumping like classic parachute jumping, dome acrobatics, group acrobatics, free style, skyserfing, free fly. This kind of sport requires intensive training. I like this kind of sport and that is why I decided to study at our flying club as a packer of parachute systems. And I’ll jump with my instructor next summer.
In 2010 the World Championship of parachute jumping will be held in Menzelinsk. Champions of all countries will arrive in our little town and take part in it. We’ll try to make up a friendly, hospitable and pleasant atmosphere for them.
