Она омывается Черным и Азовским морями. Главные реки — Днепр, Днестр, Донец и другие.
Территория Украины, в основном, покрыта равнинами. Украинские Карпаты и Крымские горы занимают только 5 % территории. В стране хорошо развиты промышленность и сельское хозяйство. В Украине много полезных ископаемых. Население Украины составляет более 50 млн человек. Самые большие города — Киев, Харьков, Запорожье, Днепропетровск, Одесса, Львов, Николаев и др. Украина имеет древнюю историю. У нее своя оригинальная культура и искусство.
В последние годы украинцы проявляют большой интерес к украинской истории и культурному наследию. В последнее время Украина установила новые отношения со странами во всем мире. Украина — один из членов ООН и принимает
участие в работе многих международных организаций. Ученые Украины внесли большой вклад в мировую науку.

We live in Ukraine. Ukraine is a sovereign state. It has its own territory, government, national emblem, state flag and anthem. The geographical position of Ukraine is very favourable for the development of its relations with the countries of Europe, as well as with the countries throughout the world. It borders on Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania. It is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The major rivers are the Dnieper, the Dniester, the Donets and others.
The territory of Ukraine consists mostly of plains. The Ukrainian Carpathians and the Crimean Mountains make up only 5 % of its area. It is a well-developed industrial and agricultural country. Ukraine has many natural resources. The population of Ukraine is over 50 million people. The biggest cities are Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Lviv, Nikolayev and others. Ukraine has an ancient history. It has its own original culture and arts. Over recent years people of Ukraine display a keen interest in the Ukrainian history and cultural heritage.
Nowadays Ukraine has established new relations with the countries throughout the world. Ukraine is one of the members of the United Nations Organization and participates in the work of many international organizations. Scientists of Ukraine made a great contribution to the world science.
