The former name of our University was the Moscow Technological Institute for Meat and Dairy Industry.
This Institute was founded in 1930 on the base of the National Economy Institute named after Plekhanov.
It was situated then in Zatsepa street, but later on it moved into Talalikhin street 33 where it occupies a number of buildings now.
The teaching is conducted by an experienced and well – qualified staff.
There are 5 departments in our University. They are day – time or full time, evening or part time, extra – mural or correspondence, preparatory and humanitarian.
The day – time department has the following faculties: Technological, Food Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Refrigeration Engineering, Automation of Biotechnical Systems, Economic Engineering and Veterinary – Sanitary.
Those who want to enter our University usually attend preparatory courses.
The basic orientation of our University is biotechnology.
Many graduates of the University became well – known scientists not only in our country but also abroad.
Studying at our University gives a solid background in all spheres of knowledge and prepares for practical work.
