Gardening is one of the most popular hobbies in England. The art of gardening is a very old tradition in England which started in the 18th century. The English gardeners of those times did not like the rich and unnatural gardens of French palaces. They wanted to create their own kind of gardening. Their wish was to express in their man-made landscapes their love of English nature.

The English art of gardening is seen today in London parks and gardens. These parks mostly consist of grass;trees and water. You can lie on the soft grass; walk among the ancient oaks of Green Park and Hyde Park and nobody will forbid it.
