Днепропетровск расположен на реке Днепр. Это большой железнодорожный узел. Город является одним из основных промышленных, культурных и научных центров Украины. В городе развиты такие отрасли промышленности, как металлургическая, химическая, легкая и пищевая. Город является центром космического ракетостроения в Украине. В городе работают девять высших учебных заведений, в том числе и университет. Так как Днепропетровск является большим культурным центром Украины, там есть пять театров и три музея, в том числе художественный и исторический, филармония и обсерватория. Город был основан в 1776 году. С XVIII века в городе сохранился дворец Потемкина, сейчас Дворец студентов. Еще одним известным зданием является Преображенский собор, построенный в XIX веке. Город расположен на обоих берегах Днепра. Разные части города соединены между собой тремя мостами. Линия метро, которая была недавно открыта, также проходит под рекой.

Dnipropetrovsk is situated on the river Dnieper. It is a large railway junction. The city is one of the main industrial, cultural and scientific centres of Ukraine. Such branches of industry as metallurgical, chemical, light and food industries are well-developed in Dnipropetrovsk. The city is a centre of space rocket production in Ukraine. Nine higher educational establishments, including a University, work in the city. As Dnipropetrovsk is a large cultural centre of Ukraine, it has 5 theatres, 3 museums, including the museum of Fine Arts and the Historical Museum, Philarmonic Society and observatory. The city was founded in 1776. From the 18th century the Palace of Potyemkin, now the Students’ Palace, has preserved. Another famous building is the Pre-obrazhensky cathedral, built in the 19th century. The city is situated on both banks of the Dnieper. Different parts of the city are connected with each other by three bridges. The underground line, which has been recently opened, also run under the river.
